Ghost of of an Aristocrat

A dog like Chiquito yesterday afternoon on Bedford Avenue in Williamsburgh, Brooklyn. I stared at him and his young female owner. She was playing with him and feeding him. Chiquito was just the dog for me–a great walker, he loved beautiful homes and knew where they were. And I didn’t have to get up early to walk with him. He could wait. His original owners probably had him trained from the very beginning of his life. Chiquito must have spent most of his years with them. I wonder if they’re still alive or if they dumped him when the old lady/gentleman died. Do they miss him or was he just expandable because he was getting older?
