Cart

She walked slowly, pushing the orange supermarket cart as best she could. The light was about to change and lots of cars were ready to go. The woman wore an old pair of jeans and a dark T-shirt. On the cart there were big plastic bags full of Pepsi cans, Coke and beer bottles. The long thick pole on the woman’s right shoulder had 2 more large plastic bags filled with more stuff to be recycled for a nickel a piece. It was dark and the woman walked on towards Delancey Street with her precious cargo.
